Brittanies Thyme Organic Citrus Facial Cleanser

From the Brittanies Thyme Organic Citrus Facial Cleanser website

"All of Brittanie’s Thyme products are USDA certified organic, with the exception of our French Green Clay Facial Mask with Organic White Tea, even our bug spray. Our products are also gluten-free by FDA standards."

"Our commitment to Organic Integrity led to our being one of the Top Ten Nominees of Green America’s “People’s Choice Award 2010”."

Brittanies Thyme Organic Citrus Facial Cleanser is described as "a natural hydrating liquid daily cleanser suited for all skin types. Will not over dry or compromise skin's natural protection. Grapefruit and rosemary help rid face of dirt and residue, while a hint of jojoba oil adds a perfect touch of moisture."

Ingredients: organic aloe vera, organic jojoba oil, 100% natural vegetable glycerin, Organic rosemary extract, organic grapefruit essential oil, organic rosemary essential oil.

Directions: Shake lightly, apply small amount to wet face. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Brittanies Thyme Organic Citrus Facial Cleanser contains mostly oils. Oils don't lather but DO clean well. I know this from personal experience.

When I had a severe reaction to a skin care product, a dermatologist told me to clean my face gently with organic olive oil. It did an amazing job and I still use it every now and then.

This Citrus Facial cleanser leaves the skin feeling clean, supple and not at all "tight". (If you have dry or sensitive skin, you know what that means.)

Combining it with the exfoliating clay scrub adds a whole new dimension to the cleaning - that of removing dead skin cells and pulling out grime from the under-layers of the skin.

The panel's findings

The tester with oily skin started using the exfoliating clay and cleanser combo in the shower. Other testers followed his lead. The warmth of the shower opens skin pores so that the cleansing seems to reach down and pull out more from the skin's layers.

Three of the testers did not read the directions on the clay scrub and used it by itself, without mixing it with the cleanser.

One of them - the person with dry skin - even let the plain clay dry like a mask! Ouch. After removing it, he said he felt as though some of his skin came off with it.

He remedied that by using extra moisturizer until his skin felt normal. When he mixed the clay and cleanser as recommended, the result was much more satisfying.

Note: This is a good reminder to READ DIRECTIONS.

From the tester with combination skin: "Actually, I did read it (label and directions) and it is one of my comments - I love that they use the cleanser in that way. I really like this product. The packaging is great. The clay scrub is a really nice consistency - not too thick."

Three panel members really liked the smell of the cleanser; one did not and the rest didn't really notice it.

General consensus is that Brittanie's Thyme Organic Citrus Facial Cleanser works well on its own as well as in combination with the clay scrub. When to use them together is a matter of skin type and personal preference.
