Brittanies Thyme Exfoliating Clay Scrub

From Brittanies Thyme Exfoliating Clay Scrub's website

"All of Brittanie’s Thyme products are USDA certified organic, with the exception of our French Green Clay Facial Mask with Organic White Tea, even our bug spray. Our products are also gluten-free by FDA standards."

"Our commitment to Organic Integrity led our being one of the Top Ten Nominees of Green America’s “People’s Choice Award 2010”. We continually strive to source the most environmentally responsible options from ingredients to our PLA labels, our use of renewable energy through our local electricity provider, recycling and composting throughout our manufacturing facility and more."

Note: If you have a problem with glutens, gluten-free skin care is a plus. You already know there are "hidden" glutens in all kinds of products.

If you don't have a problem, using gluten-free products can't hurt - and might help - since many people react to glutens and are not yet aware of it.

Ingredients: Montmorillonite (Bentonite clay), Organic Linum usitatissimum (Flax seed meal)

Our panels' findings

Two testers did not read the directions on Brittanies Thyme Exfoliating Clay Scrub and assumed that the powdered clay was to be mixed with water and spread on the face to dry.

(Clay pulls out toxins so this was not an unreasonable assumption…however it really is best not to assume anything!)

The tester with dry, sensitive skin skin who let it dry on his face said when he rinsed it off he felt as though he rinsed part of his face off along with the clay. Ouch! He then used 3 rounds of moisturizer to combat what he had done. Soon his skin was feeling "normal" again.

The tester with very oily skin who let it dry on his face said he liked the results. His skin felt good for hours. He also used it as a spot remedy for a breakout on his chin and felt the pimples dried up faster than usual.

This shows that skin type AND reading directions are important in knowing what to do for your skin.

A tester with "normal" combination skin and no particular problems commented "I love that they use the cleanser in that way. I really like this product. The packaging is great. The clay scrub is a really nice consistency - not too thick."

Another note: Men who shave exfoliate dead skin cells from the areas they shave. This clay scrub exfoliates AND pulls dirt and toxins from the under layers of the skin - a benefit for new skin that's constantly forming.

All testers liked Brittanies Thyme Exfoliating Clay Scrub and have certain recommendations. One suggested using it at the beginning of a shower as the skin pores are open and he feels the mask does an even better job then. Those with dry skin recommend limiting the clay scrub/mask to once a week, using the cleanser by itself the rest of the time.

Two would definitely buy it.
